Dermalogica Reviews – Special Cleansing Gel

If you’re here for Dermalogica Reviews – special cleansing gel, or are in need of an Adult Acne Facewash you might be needing this. As a teen I was blessed with good skin. Acne passed me by – I had the occasional spot, obviously, but never anything terrible. I had close friends who suffered terribly, and my brother had shocking skin right into his 20’s.

But me? Peachy soft smoothness, with just a  little shiny T-zone to take care of.
It was such a non-issue that I never did anything for my skin, at all. Oh I took my make-up off (*whispers* often just with a baby wipe..). Usually. But cleaning and toning and feeding it?
No need.
My skin was fii-i-ine.
All through my 20’s and 30’s, beyond the odd single spot breaking out when I was due on, I simply never even thought about my skin.
But then last year I turned 40. And it was horrifying.

My skin suddenly decided it had been missing out… and big patches of mediaeval pustules started spreading across my cheeks. And sometimes, just to mix things up, they had a little week-long party on my chin.
There was redness, soreness, scabbiness, and properly hideous yellowhead-ness. Ugh.
A year I’ve been battling them, the gits.
And whilst they’re still not gone, I have developed a nice routine to keep them at bay, after months of hunting for a dceent Adult Acne Facewash.
Steroid cream from the GP helps with the serious outbreaks, but I keep things calm for much longer (basically between periods… what? My skin’s hormonal? You think??) with the bottle of magnificence pictured above.
It’s not cheap, but it lasts for ages, and it’s quite frankly a miracle in a pump. It works, people.
Because I quickly found the more you treat with strong cleansers, the more the skin fights to redress the balance – and it all becomes a hideous mess. But the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel is a soap-free, foaming gel designed to thoroughly remove impurities without disturbing the skin’s natural moisture balance.
Doubly lovely is the scent from the Balm Mint and Lavender extracts (which also soothe the skin), and the natural Saponaria gently foams away toxins and deep-cleanses debris.

Honestly – it’s fabulous. I love.

The huge 500ml Dermalogica Special Cleaning Gel is currently a few quid cheaper at john Lewis than it is on Dermalogica, at £49

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
