“Awaaaaay in a manger…”
Behind door number six of the 2015 #LittleStuff24 Advent Calendar is a prize for the grown ups – this one’s from our fabulous friends at Durex, who thought you just might like a Treat For Both, and a Sexlection Box. Oh yes.
We’re firm believers in the fact that Christmas is not just for kids… so we loved that a recent Durex survey revealed that 64% of people agree with us, and think that, contrary to popular belief, Christmas is not just for kids at all!
While we’re bombarded on every side now with ads for either food or toys, there is a whole generation of us ready to enjoy the holidays just for ourselves, too. And for Christmas 2015 Durex wants couples to make time for each other, making sure they have just as much fun as the kids.
Less than 20% of us have ever spent a Christmas Day with just their partner – I know I never have. And actually, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to. But what we do have, every year since the children were tiny, is a big cook-up on Christmas Eve.
The Grandparents used to whisk them all out all day to wear their little legs off whilst we spent the day in the kitchen together, cooking up a storm for the following few days. Now they’re older (the grandparents too) they don’t head to the beach or the country park – instead they’re banished upstairs where they play on various computer games together, enjoy their annual upstairs-picnic (only allowed once a year) while they watch a Christmas movie from the comfort of No.1’s bed, and have a bit of a quiet-together-day themselves. The grandparents go visiting friends before retiring to the fireside for a snooze, storing up the energy for the coming frenzy.
We remain uninterrupted in the kitchen – it’s not at all sexy, but it IS a stupidly romantic Christmas Eve. It’s our own magical private little mini-Christmas, and we’d never ever swap it.
As many couples look to recapture a bit of magic, many people are hoping for a little more creativity and imagination from their other halves in Christmas 2014. Two fifths of people said they’d like their partner to be more romantic, while more sexy gifts are on the wish list of many Brits.
Leading Sex expert Alix Fox says:”It has always been the traditional mindset that Christmas is a time to be close to the ones we love – and, as this survey shows, it’s also a time we want to be close to our lovers. Yet it can be hard to fit in a deliciously X-rated moment at Christmas when plans can get so hectic; travelling the length and breadth of the country to visit relatives, racing round the shops to buy turkey and tinsel, or hosting a houseful of guests.
Buying your partner an erotic gift designed to be enjoyed intimately together is a good way of reminding you both to clear a little space for some festive one-on-one. Make sure you save at least one private evening for yourselves to toast your relationship, make out under the mistletoe, then unwrap and play with the very best presents imaginable – each other!”
The survey was commissioned to celebrate the launch of the Durex’s Christmas Sexlection Box, a limited edition gift set of Durex products, with a little nod and a wink to a childhood Christmas favourite with a very adult, very Durex twist. This year Durex wants couples to make time for each other and have just as much fun as the kids.
So how d’you go about winning a Sexlection box for yourself to brighten up a chilly grey January, along with a £50 Treat for Both pleasure set? Easy peasy.
Just answer the first two questions in the widget box below. There are more chances to win by completing the other entry options if you so wish – they’re entirely up to you! The closing date for this competition is 11th January 2015 and only entries received on or before that date can be included. The winner will be the first randomly chosen correct entry. Good luck!
