The leaves are turning, the nights are drawing in and there is a nippy chill in the air so my thoughts turn to hibernation and…….. slippers.
Every year I lose a few hours of my life doing the Annual Slipper Hunt and my feet are telling me it’s time to start again. It did not start well (sigh).
Slippers are funny old things. Essential – but usually so darn ugly and uninspiring. Is it really too much to ask for an indoor foot covering to not make you feel so old and frumpy? Why can’t they invent a slipper that makes you feel as fabulous as those gorgeous 2-inch heels languishing in the bottom of your wardrobe?
Click after disgruntled-click, I ploughed through page after page of dull, dull, dull… but then, just as I was about to give up, I found it.
Slipper Heaven.
And they call this heaven Ruby+Ed. Ahhhhhh, go, take a little look and I dare you to not fall in love with at least one pair… maybe two….
It’s like a little gleeful smile to wrap your feet in, isn’t it? Just a sumptuous thing to cradle your chilly or tired toes. Classic ballerina shape that’s oh-so-practical, and a little nonsensical frill with that ridiculous bow. I love.
The Velvet Bow Ballet (which comes not just in that glorious peacock but in berry red and dusty plum too) can be yours for just under £40.
Or maybe a slipper boot is more your thing? We’re rather keen on these knit boots. Part Lined with the softest faux fur, this chunky knit boot is allegedly uncontended for comfort. I’d probably need to try one to see…
Truffle Knit Boot (also available in a pale oyster colour) are yours for £50.
We love Ruby & Ed

Hello
I’ve got a pair of the Ruby and Ed velvet bow ballerina slippers and would like to know where I can buy another pair. My daughter bought them for me bit can’t remember where s he got them. It was about ten years ago and I haven’t worn them very much. Just kept them for best. Hope you can help
