How to make your Christmas Wreath from your afternoon walk – Luxury Family Hotel style

Making a Christmas Wreath: A How-to Guide from Woolley Grange

Every year we swear we’ll make our own wreath – and every year we gfoirget, or get intimidated by stratingt he task, or don’t have what we need, and end up not doing so. And every year we promise that NEXT year will be the year.

Finally – 2014 IS the year. We did it!

And how and why we did it is down to the lovely Head gardener from Woolley Grange, who made a video tutorial that even we could follow. And being able to combine it with a walk in the woods to collect all the bits we needed made it a fabulous family activity that we all got involved with – even the dog!

The children LOVED creating from the greenery we collected, and take huge pride in the finished wreath that hangs proudly on our door.

In the video, Eliza (head gardener at Woolley Grange in Wiltshire), shows you how to make a gorgeous Christmas wreath using natural elements entirely from the hotel gardens (you can buy anything you can’t find from florists or online).

Equipment needed:
Secateurs
Wire-cutters
Florists’ wire (available from florists, hardware shops or online)

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
