Ah, Paris. A place so many of us hold dear – whether through fabulous memories of special times, or as a place we’ve always longed to explore.
If you’re lucky enough to be heading off there this summer, make sure you take a few selfies while you’re there – and join in with the #ParisWeLoveYou campaign.
There are some fabulous prizes to be won daily – and the overall winner gets an all-expenses paid trip to Paris! I know!
This was a couple of summers ago now (yes, yes, it was raining…), when the lovely Mr LittleStuff whisked me off on a surprise adventure to Paris for a few days. Oh, what a wonderful time we had! We stayed in the Montmartre, walked the length and breadth of the city, had a night at the Moulin Rouge and generally crammed in as much Paris-Tourist stuff as we possibly could. And we loved every single minute.
The thing about a selfie – not the pouty, posed, take-30-to-get-a-good-one ones but the the genuine, spontaneous, this-is-so-bloody-brilliant-i-want-to-record-me-here-NOW ones – is that it celebrates the joy you’re finding in a single moment. Invariably i find the selfies I take are unflattering, awkwardly lit with poor composition and often out of focus. But I love them – because they’re me. Here. Now. And it’s bloody brilliant.
Us on the Pont Neuf bridge on the final day of our short break. The sun had finally come out, we’d had two fabulous days crammed full of all-things-Paris, and we still had a few more hours to saunter the streets. My hair’s astonishingly crap, even by my standards, I look like I’ve swallowed a bag of marshmallows, I’ve not got a scrap of make up on and we both appear to have lost an ear. Doesn’t matter. Just looking at that picture I can remember how bloody happy we were.
So while you’re in Paris this summer take LOTS of Selfies. Join the Paris Selfie Race with the #ParisSelfieRace hashtag on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (Connect through the platform here ). There are daily challenges with daily prizes, and if you collect enough points you’re in with a chance of winning that all-expenses-paid break in paris!
