Lakeland Slow Cooker Review
I have to admit that I’m a bit unorganised about feeding the family. Some weeks I ‘get it’ – planned menu, the right ingredients ready in the fridge/freezer/cupboards, different family meals every night. But more often I find I’m glancing at the clock and it’s nearly 5pm and there’s nothing planned, nothing ready, and nothing in the cupboard. And of course if the girl isn’t fed and in bed by 6.30pm she’s a Foul Beasty. Fish...
WasItAnyGoods – LG Steam Direct Washing Machine review
We’ve had this machine for a year now. It has, in that time, performed in excess of 350 washes, and kept control of a family of 6’s clean clothes, bed linen and towels. A year ago I wrote a (loo-o-ng) and glowing review of this washing machine, the LG F1479FD56 Steam Direct 9kg. So, as we do for the ‘bigger stuff’ we review, I’m revisiting it after a years heavy use. What do I think of it now? Well. I...

Spotted! Stripy Blankets from the Stripy Co.
What is it about stripes? And blankets? Combine the two with a gorgeously fresh made-of-trees-and-wind-and-sunshine website, and it’s hard to resist these beautiful beautiful bed blankets from the Stripy Company. The thing with blankets is that they last and last… this is one children’s item that will easily outgrow the nursery and still be loved and more importantly used in 20 years time. Go on, we dare you to...
Spotted! Amazingly soft and pretty slippers from Ruby&Ed
The leaves are turning, the nights are drawing in and there is a nippy chill in the air so my thoughts turn to hibernation and…….. slippers. Every year I lose a few hours of my life doing the Annual Slipper Hunt and my feet are telling me it’s time to start again. It did not start well (sigh). Slippers are funny old things. Essential – but usually so darn ugly and uninspiring. Is it really too much to ask for...
Freya Design Boxes Review
Just gorgeous. That’s what we say about Freya Design wooden keepsake boxes. We were asked to look at the baby trinket gift boxes; three little boxes (in blue or pink flavours) for keeping baby’s name braclet, first curl and first tooth. These boxes are utterly delightful and very well made (tiny magnetic catches on the lid of each box). If you are looking for a simply gorgeous gift to celebrate the arrival of a new baby...
