Cars 2. We like it. Sort of.

It’s a tricky one this.

On the front of it, we sat down with the children (4, 8, 10, and 12), and they all loved it.

They did.

But me?

Not so much.

Everything that I loved about the original was gone.

The first one worked due to it’s slow, easy, deep-down innate gentle GOODNESS.

The sequel – which sidelines Lightning McQueen in favour of Mater – is a Spy movie. Inevitably this leads the plot down the action movie route, and all that quirky personal charm is gone.

And frankly, I was uncomfortable with the 4yr old watching the torture scene. Not that it’s graphic, but the implied actions were unnecessary.

So. If you’re a 6/8/10 yr old boy, you’ll love this. You will.

But if you’re looking for a fabulous Cars follow-up? Notsomuch…

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
