The Bamboo Slate – your paper drawing, on your computer!

I don’t know about you, but no matter how much I love my digital life, I am also never without ‘real’ pen and paper by my side. I just ‘need’ to use a real pen or pencil and jot notes – when I’m on the phone, when I suddenly have an idea, or remember That Thing that I keep forgetting to note down, and need to note it down NOW before it dribbles off again… I have a stack of old tatty scribbled through notebooks which I love, and a stack of shiny new ones waiting to be loved.
Sometimes I’m out, and need the phone number I jotted down in my notebook which is still on my desk. Or I’m out, and need to write quick notes – which I’ll need to understand and work form when I get home. When you have a digital work life, the much-loved pen and paper don’t quite integrate seamlessly.

And so let’s introduce the Wacom Bamboo Slate – which allows you to write naturally with pen on any paper, then store, shape and share your notes and ideas in the cloud.

I know – it sounds like magic. Write with pen and ink on real paper, press a button and whoosh! It’s in a digital version that I can access from anywhere and share with anyone through the cloud.

In the box comes the ‘slate’ plus the pen. You pair the two via Bluetooth, and you’re good to go. Use the pen – which is loaded with a special ink – to write your notes, sketches, letters and lists on real paper. When you’re ready to send your notes to Inkspace, you press the button on the folio, and it communicates with the Inkspace app running on your device, saving a picture of the page locally and uploading it. From Inkspace you can convert the page to various image or text files.

The Wacom Inkspace app lets you organize, edit and share your notes and sketches on your iOS or Android devices – and don’t worry if you’re not near your mobile device, you can store up to 100 pages on Bamboo Slate and sync later. To top it all off, with the Inkspace cloud service you can sync your notes in the cloud and access your work from anywhere at anytime. The Bamboo Slate includes the free Inkspace Basic subscription, which gives you 5 GB storage (6,000+ pages of notes), the ability to sync content across all your smart devices, and access to your content on the Inkspace web portal.

But you can unlock more features with a 3-month free subscription of Inkspace Plus, which adds in converting your handwritten notes to rich text, enhanced search features, export to scalable vector file format (SVG), and 50 GB (60,000+ pages of notes).

I know you want one already, right? :)

The large Bamboo Slate is currently available on Amazon for just over £100.

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
