'Wipe Clean Colours' from Honey Hill - What WE Say...

These board books are a great idea – coming complete with a small box of chalks and a teeny cloth, ours have been used over and over again. Particularly handy in the grumpy slot before tea, they fit neatly onto the highchair tray for some perfect distraction whilst you get on and cook. I also often grab one for car journeys or dull relative-visiting. Much, much safer than pens or pencils for small artists! I did find the thin chalks snapped very easily, but that didn’t bother Ella in the least, she is more than happy to colour with small stubs. When we received the set she was too young to take much notice of the shapes/colours/opposites themes of the books, content to simply have a fun new place to draw. Now she’s 2, she loves to read them with me and prove (a little smugly) that she knows all the colours and shapes and can count the right numbers inside.

Quick tip - we have found an occasional swift smoosh with a baby wipe restores the pages to perfect blackness, ready for more chalking.
