New Competition – Win an older kids Street Scooter from Slick Willies

Slick Willies.

I admit it – when the email landed in my inbox I thought it was probably from the seriously dodgy end of my email spectrum, and nearly didn’t bother reading it at all.
Mr LittleStuff might have tutted and sighed at me when I told him this. Apparently I’m a fool. Because Slick Willies is one of the UK’s leading Skate shops – and the oldest in London (they’re a 70’s child like me, and are still living in the original Hyde Park store).

The thing is, the whole skateboarding is a bit of a Dark Art for those of us not in the know. And it’s one of those things that our child’s knowledge soon outstrips our own (unless we ourselves had a Skate-filled youth, obviously. I’m not sure my own beetling up and down and up and down (and up and down…) the street on my old wooden board (oh, how I loved that board. It was ‘vintage’ when my Mum picked it up at a jumble sale for me in about 1980… it would probably be worth a fortune now…) really counts).

So when your child pipes up that learning to use a skateboard would be an awesome thing (and let’s face it, what’s NOT awesome about it? And how often does your child yearn for something that’s just so good for them?), you know you’ll probably need some advice. And thanks to 30 years of experience selling skateboards, inline skates and scooter gear, Slick Willies will genuinely have all the guidance and answers you’ll need. Because they have always been determined never to become a typical, chain retailer; Slick Willies has always been run by skaters, from the managers to the staff. They just know what they’re talking about.

And if skateboarding’s not your child’s thing, then scootering definitely is.
Only one of my boys has ever been keen to skateboard, but all four children have loved scooters right from the easy-to-ride 3-wheel microscooters when they were toddlers (and I’m back with the nostalgia again. I had a really big metal yellow scooter with red rubber wheels – another jumble sale find. And I used to ride it up and down, and up and down (and up, and down…) the street. I LOVED that scooter…).

And unlike a skateboard, which takes some skill to get going on, any child can get on a scooter and… scoot. It’s easy.
And yes you can take it much further at the skatepark and on the streets, scooters are as much a thing as skateboarding these days. But the sheer simple whizzy joy of a well-built scooter trundling along at speed takes some beating – and it’s accessible the minute the scooter is on the ground.

So Slick Willies wondered if you might like the chance to win one of their brilliant Street Scooters. Suitable for 8yrs up, it’s one of the lightest scooters you can get – and JD Bug is the most popular scooter brand with riders who are moving from recreational to stunt scooter riding; so perfect for your kid who’s eyeing the ramps at the park with a meaningful spark in their eye.

The JD Bug Original Street Scooter comes with a single lever folding mechanism making it quick and easy to fold up when needed (always an essential feature). In addition to the simple folding mechanism, another great feature of this JD Bug is the carry strap so you can put it over your shoulder when you need to carry it.

The handle bar height is adjustable making it perfect for young children, but means it grows with your child, and is big enough for adults (max rider weight of 100 kgs).

To be in with a chance to win, simply use the Rafflecopter box below; first two entries are compulsory, and there’s more chances of winning with the extra options of liking and sharing across social media. Closing Date is 23rd November 2015, and the first random answer pulled out of the hat after that date bags themselves the awesome Street Scooter – just in time for Christmas!

NOW CLOSED

Do head over to Slick Willies for any help or advice – give them a call, or better still pop in to the shop and see them. They are located in Kensington close to Hyde Park, and are open 7 days a week, 362 days a year! It’s also worth checking out their Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages where they have all their latest news, giveaways and videos!

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
