Ten Days of #FunAt40 with ELC – Are You Ready?

As you probably know by now, it’s LittleStuff’s tenth birthday this year.

Oh my, we’re ALL about the birthdays this summer. All the very best people have important birthdays this year.

It happens to be MY 40th in a few weeks (cake & cards always welcome…).
It’s 40 years since ABBA released the ABBA Gold album.
Clearly 1974 was an EXCELLENT year – Playmobil is 40 this year, too.
And it also happens that this year is ELC’s 40th Birthday too!

We love working with ELC, so we’re really properly excited to be celebrating their birthday with them – and you!

Founded in 1974 by a mum and dad, John Beale and his wife, who wanted to give their children toys that were really good fun but also helped them develop, ELC have grown and grown since then (but they’re still not grown up enough to stop playing!).

From their classic wooden toys to their enduring best sellers, they create toys that stand the test of time.  Over the years they have added even more unique toys, including Happyland, a range of brilliant buildings, quirky characters, cute animals and colourful vehicles; Rosebud Village (our personal favourite), a collection of wooden doll’s houses, characters and accessories; and Toybox, a delightful range of colourful click-clack characters and vehicles they introduced in 2013.

In the beginning, Early Learning Centre was a mail order business, and their first shop opened in Reading the same year.  Now in 2014 they have more than 400 stores in over 40 countries around the world, and they continue to operate a catalogue business as well as an award-winning website.

Since 1974 generations of children have grown up exploring, learning and creating with Early Learning Centre.  Now that’s totally worth celebrating!

“We believe the early years are the most important of all.  From birth, children have a natural urge to learn in the widest sense – to learn to move, look, listen, talk, imagine and create, get on with other people.”  Early Learning Centre catalogue, 1981

So, here we are, about to say “GO!” with a magnificent Ten Days of #FunAt40 with the lovely ELC.

Those of you who have been with us the last few Christmases will know how this works as it’s the same as our annual 12 Days Of An ELC Christmas: every day for the next ten days we’ll open a new competition.

But you have only 24 HOURS to enter – at midnight the comp will close, and the new one will launch.

We start at midnight tonight – so make sure you don’t miss it!
You can bookmark us and come back every day to enter.
Follow us on Facebook as the comps will be on there too; but do check in daily as we can’t guarantee that Facebook will automatically show you our feed.
If you’re dead keen not to miss one, then simply sign up for the email notifications – that way you’ll get an email every day, and you won’t miss out for sure.

Here’s a sneak peek of the prizes we’ll have up for grabs over the next ten days (and no, we’re not giving away the sun. The solar system needs it.):

So – ready for the fun to begin? See you in the early hours for Day 1 of LittleStuff’s #Funat40 competition!

Author: Laura

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
