Spotted! Achingly pretty vintage melamine picnic plates!

vintage green melamine plate

I LOVE eating outside in the warmer weather, but in the past melamine picnic plates have been less-than-inspiring.

But I just spotted this over on John Lewis.
Isn’t it SO pretty?

That vintage green, that soft floral meadow impression of a design… and it’s melamine, so utterly perfect for summer eating in the garden, or whisking out for impromptu picnics.

This is actually the contrasting side plate in the Croft Collection at John Lewis – the rest of the range is in a really pretty white with delicately coloured meadow plants and blooms in shades of green and blue:
Oh, the sun is shining, the birds are shouting, I’m off to the beach this afternoon… can’t you just feel summer hurtling towards us?

The pretty melamine Croft Collection can all be found over on John Lewis, with prices starting at £3.50 and rising to a not-very-huge £12 for the beautiful salad bowl on the right there.

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
