As the year draws to a close, we’ve been looking ahead to see what’s coming to the big screen in 2015.
Oh boy there are some stonkers headed our way!
And weirdly, 2015 looks set to be the year of the Sequel – seriously, there are so many, and ALL of our top five are sequels to much-loved franchises.
Here’s our pick of 2015’s releases:
Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens – 18th December 2015
A continuation of the saga created by George Lucas set thirty years after Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.
There is no way in the world this one is going to be missed… It’s the original Luke, people! The one we grew up with!
Jurassic World Movie – 12th June 2015
The next biggie is the new Jurassic Park, which had totally escaped me. I know the sequels weren’t so awesome as the original, but I have a huge love for the first, and am keen to see the latest incarnation. Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park (TWENTY TWO YEARS! *cries* ), Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor’s interest, which backfires horribly.
It has Chris Pratt starring, people…
The Avengers Age of Ultron – 1st May 2015
When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and it is up to The Avengers to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plans…
Terminator Genisys – 1st July 2015
He’s BACK!
The year is 2029. John Connor, leader of the resistance, continues the war against the machines. At the Los Angeles offensive, John’s fears of the unknown future begin to emerge when TECOM spies reveal a new plot by SkyNet that will attack him from both fronts; past and future, and will ultimately change warfare forever…
*shivers*
Insurgent – 20th March 2015
Maybe not quote so world-breaking as the other four, nevertheless I cannot wait to see this!
Divergent got me hooked on the trilogy of Veronica Roth’s books, which I swallowed in one gulp over the summer. insurgent os book two… and I’m so excited to see it!
Now on the run from Jeanine (Kate Winslet) and the rest of the power-hungry Erudites, Tris and Four search for allies and answers in the ruins of Chicago. They must find out what Tris’ family sacrificed their lives to protect and why the Erudites will do anything to stop them…
