Book review: Jack Frost by Kazuno Kohara
I honestly didn’t think Pink would enjoy this. It was too… odd. Angular. Frosty, actually. Not at all the soft, gorgeous imagery she usually chooses. Shows what I know. This book comes out again and again. Happily. Because I love it as much as Pink does. The simply paper cut style illustration is beautiful, and far more evocative than I expected. Perfect, in fact, in a story of a world caught in the depths of icy winter....
The Bestest Christmas Gift Guide #28 – There Are Cats…
There are Cats ……..in this book. And they are of the very best seriously sensible, naughty, purr-ey, hidey sort. I bought this book on a whim – at £2.45 it was hardly going to break the bank, and seemed like a good stocking filler. When it arrived, I flipped through it, like you do. And despite being all alone in an empty house, I actually laughed out loud. Not smiling with a huffey sort of noise, not an amused...
The Bestest Christmas Gift Guide #20 – Look, a new ‘My Fairy’ Pop Up Book! Woot!

Your child, in the book. Cue squeals of delight, and many many many many requests for reading it again. And again. And again. You honestly can’t go wrong with these for pre-schoolers, they will cherish them (our favourite...
Personalised Books – tacky, yes?
I thought so. I really did. I fell for the personalised thing with the first child (Chrsitmas songs about you from Coco the Clown, anyone?), but ever since have firmly stuck to my guns and said a big fat NO. But then I got offered a book from Itsyourstory. Which I didn’t answer, if I’m honest. But the PR was lovely, and bit persuasive, and assured me I would love it. More importantly Pink would adore it. So I succumbed,...
