Bestest Christmas Gift Guide – the vintage nightie

**Note to self. Don’t tell the daughter she’s modelling her nightie. This was the best shot I got after 5 minutes and 30 photographs. *mutters*

We love pyjamas as much as the next parent, but sometimes, there’s something really incredibly charming about a pretty nightie, isn’t there? And I know my daughter often reaches past the pj’s for the prettiness of a floaty nightie in her drawer.

And if you’re looking for one, you can’t go wrong with Ella James Living, who carry a whole range of traditional nighties in gloriously vintage styles and fabrics.

A personal favourite of mine is this retro ‘Children at Play’ – It’s 100% cotton of course and a simple machine wash; the smocked bodice is so pretty with it’s covered buttons, and the 3/4 sleeves are trimmed with white crochet.

And if you happen to be thinking of it as a gift, you can also add a matching rag doll to maker a set So sweet!

The retro Children At Play nightie by Powell Craft is available from Ella James Living in ages 1-9yrs for £20. Sizing is very generous – they really won’t grow out of these in a hurry!

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
