Vulli Chan Pie Gnon Baby Teething Toy - What WE Say...

We received to review two of the Chan Pie Gnon teething toys from Vulli, best know for their classic teether Sophie the Giraffe. I loved the look of these, the design is fun and quirky. When I took them out of the box I was surprised that the rubber was so soft and that the toys themselves were hollow. I also had not expected them to smell but they have a very distinctive rubber smell which unusual but not unpleasant.

Piran loves these little toys and will happily chew on them all day long. As he does the rubber makes a distinctive noise and they also have squeakers inside them, and the two had different squeaks to each other. The pink one was my favourite. I will say that they do feel and sound a bit like a dog toy, and have been mistaken for such by a couple of enthusiastic dogs! The packaging states that the toys should not be sterilised which may worry some people but I just gave the toys the odd wipe with a cloth and some Dettol instead.

The only thing that I wish that these had was some slightly different shaped parts for getting to those back gums as they have lots of nice rounded corners which are easier to chew with the front gums and teeth. For example Sophie the Giraffe has great long legs / neck ideal for this. Piran & I both love these little characters and there are three toys in the set and now we have two I will be buying the third. They are cute and unusual and we have had lots of comments about them when we are out and about.
