Talking Thomas and Drive Along PercyWhat WE Say...OK, so we all know Thomas; those of us with boys have probably lived Thomas for a period or so, but in our house, it was always the wooden trains and tracks and the magnetic buffers. So when Matthew (18mths) was asked to 'test drive' the Talking Thomas and Drive Along Percy, I was interested how he would react. Having a big brother who was a Thomas fan meant Matthew had played with the small wooden train set and he seems to like them. But these new ones are much bigger and they talk too! Anyway, he seems to really love them. Percy has not been left alone since he arrived, and his driver is a perfect chewing pal for Matthew. He has sussed that when Percy is tucked up in his shed, and the driver is pushed a full pelt down the chimney and into his seat on Percy, Percy will chug along quite nicely, chatting as he goes! Talking Thomas is also going down a treat. He has 7 sayings which we have all found ourselves coming out with in the last week or so. It is an easy take anywhere toy which isn't too big to pop in my bag, and his wiggling eyes make Matthew laugh when he watches them. The toys are also surprisingly robust. They have been hurtled down stairs, thrown from car doors, sat on and drooled on and are still living to tell the tale. The shed for Percy is also quite sturdy although a little too angular in some points as Matthew has had a few lumps and bumps when he has been flinging it around! The batteries supplied in Thomas however only lasted about 3 days, so they have been replaced, but other than that they are a hit. There are more to the Drive Along collection, and all the shed clip together wo make the station yard, so there may be another Drive Along pal delivered from Santa very shortly!
