Petite Star Kurvi 3 Pushchair - What WE Say...When I first opened my delivery of the Kurvi 3 pushchair my Husband’s face dropped, “your not putting that together in here for the next hour are you?” and interrupt his very precious TV time!! Well to both of our delight it took a mere 15 mins to assemble. I must admit the instructions could be rather confusing if you have no previous experience of assembling a pushchair and they miss out a few points when converting it from pram to pushchair mode. But it doesn’t take long to work out what bit should click into each slot. The luxury liner is a must with the Kurvi, I wouldn’t use it without one for a young baby as the pram/pushchair material isn’t thick enough to give any padded support. Our first outing was great, I had the pushchair facing me so I could keep an eye on my little monkey and off we went. It’s really light and has fabulous manoeuvrability. The adjustable handle is easy to use and suited both my 6ft husband and my rather smaller 5ft 2in frame. The two position canopy is fine but could do with coming down slightly further when it’s in pram mode to give the extra blackout for sleeping babies. With all the plus points I am afraid to say there always seems to be a minus which unfortunately is the storage. The basket is virtually non existent so it is not ideal for shopping trips, it’s a real shame. We took the Kurvi for a family day out to the zoo and could hardly fit the picnic blanket in the basket let alone the cool bag. I know a pushchair isn’t a shopping trolley but I do expect to fit a little more in. I drive a Ford Focus so my car boot could fit a small army in it but the Kurvi does take up quite a bit of room. The frame folds down quite flat but you have to detach the pushchair part and put it in separately to save on space. I also remove one of the wheels each time so it slots in to a much smaller area. It isn’t really any extra hassle as the parts are so light and easy to put together it takes just a minute. The car seat which is compatible with the Kurvi is really lightweight and is a good option if you need to take your baby out of the car without waking them as you can slot it onto the pushchair frame. You do have to slot in 2 adaptors to the frame first and then remove them before you can use the pushchair mode. The instructions state the adaptors can be stored in the shopping basket pocket but I wouldn’t advise this as the pocket is a bit small and fear they would come out and get lost quite easily. The adaptors didn’t actually come with my pushchair but when I phoned Petite Star they had a set sent to me the following day. The car seat itself is a bit awkward to strap in each time and the seat belt goes right across your babies legs. Please bear in mind that I am comparing this seat to my only experience of a car seat that I have used with a base and the seat belt doesn’t go across the legs. If you are happy to use a car seat without a base I can’t see why this wouldn’t work for you. My overall verdict, the Kurvi 3 is great, I love it but my only wish is the storage basket was a bit bigger. Website: Buy from Mothercare here |
