What WE Say...

Of course there is a lot of toddler crockery about in the shops, but I have to say that the Perfect Portions range from Toys R Us is some of my favourite.

The 5 in 1 bowl is genius - firstly, the suckers really work (and clip on to the bottom, so no way of tugging the bowl and leaving the suckers behind)! The segregated inner bowl means you can carry various foods and mix when you like, plus it makes a great toddler snack bowl for finger foods. The outer bowl is a great size - even for my 2 yr old. And the snap-on lid really does work! The soft spoon that it comes with is also a perfect size and texture for weaning babies (though probably too small and long for toddlers). Priced at just £7.99 it holds its own amongst much higher-priced competitors.

The snackpots have been in daily use since they arrived - they are always on hand and contain an entire apple cored and segmented just perfectly, they hold just the right amount of raisins or cubes of cheese, and the handle is the best size for small hands to grip in the pushchair/car. The lid can be tricky to snap on, but I don't mind that - at least you know it will stay put whilst rolling around in your bag (I have not had one raisin spillage since I started using them).

The ice cube trays are the blessing every mother of a weaning baby needs. Just as the name says, they are perfectly sized for portions, and batch-freezing baby purees has never been simpler. Just pop out a cube or two, heat and serve. Couldn't be simpler, and I wish I'd had these years ago, instead of fighting with small bags, twisty ties, and labels which came off, leading to some interesting food combinations.

The best thing is that these are not just for babies and toddlers. The snack pots are also perfectly sized for older children to take to school filled with their own snacks - thank goodness the colours are not baby-ish, and they come in handypacks of three (and are a bargain at just £3.99). And of course the ice cube trays just make impressively sized half-moons for the summer drinks for years to come.
