Mama Mio Spa TreatmentsWhat WE Say...Littlestuff were invited to attend a ‘Come and See’ day with lunch at the Ickworth Hotel in Bury St Edmunds which also tied in with a pampering spa session using Mama Mio skincare products at the hotel. We sent our intrepid, 30-weeks-pregnant reviewer, Lisa, along and here are her thoughts on the Mama Mio spa treatments. You can find her review on the Ickworth Hotel here. =========================================================== At 30 weeks pregnant I was asked by the team at LittleStuff if I would like to try out some treatments specially designed for women in pregnancy which used the luxury Mama Mio products, of course I jumped at the chance. With a toddler and a ever growing bump it is rare to have any time for yourself. The first thing I noticed is that Mama Mio offer a wide range of treatments covering all areas of the body from leg and back massages to facials, a variety that a lot of spas and products cannot provide for the pregnant woman. The treatments focus on the areas of the body that take a lot of strain during pregnancy for example the ‘Lighten up’ which is a lower leg treatment. The treatment used many of the Mama Mio products including the ‘Body Buff’ exfoliate and the body cream. What I found particularly good about the ‘Lighten up’ was that they also focus on the feet which can be a real problem area. I was also given the ‘Free your Mind’ treatment, which is desigend to relax not only your body but also your mind. The massage oil was used during this treatment on my upper back and neck but also for a head massage. The oil smelt lovely and the head massage was heavenly and really did the trick. I was given various products to try at home because the treatments could only provide a very brief snapshot of what was available. Since the spa day I have frequently used the “Tummy Rub Butter”, this product is designed to combat stretch marks and moisturise the skin. It is a lovely cream which really makes you feel as if you are still being pampered at home. It is a thick, silky cream that smells delicious and would make a really lovely present. The “Tummy Rub Oil” is designed for a similar purpose to the butter. It moisturised my stomach and kept it feeling soft and supple all day. The rosehip gives it a really fresh smell, which was lovely. I would recommend both products although you only really need one or the other, depending on whether you prefer a cream or oil. I also have used the “Boob Tube” cream, it was good to see a product specifically designed for this sometimes forgotten area. However, I found it was not quite as moisturising as the above products and the fragrance was not a personal favourite of mine. The ‘Wonderful Balm’ is a fantastic multi-purpose balm for super moisturisation and the ‘Gravida Candle’ should not be forgotten from your shopping list because it smells absolutely divine, especially when you are having a relaxing bath. Mama Mio provide a wide range of products for the pregnant woman with something to suit everyone, some of which I am sure I shall use after the baby arrives. Website: www.mamamio.com |
