Fisher Price Chatter Phone

What WE Say...

Okay, hands up who had one of these? Come on, hands up?

35 years these have been on the market. THIRTY FIVE!!! And still, despite the fact that it looks gorgeously like no telephone still in existence, Ella gurgled with delight when she got her chubby little fingers dialling and making those funny eyes wobble when she yanked the cord.

The Fisher-Price Chatter Telephone has been the very first telephone for over 26 million people since 1962. As a matter of fact, the Chatter Telephone is quite possibly the only telephone on the market that still has a rotary dial!

(Note - watch out when you buy yours, there's a dastardly push-button version out on the market. Don't Do It!!!)

When it’s taken for a walk, its eyes roll up and down; when small fingers dial the numbers, it lets out the same old pretty ring. And its amazing who you'll find on the other end of the line when you're talking in the little red receiver.

Sadly there doesn't seem to be many people stocking it right now, it appears to be making shelf room for younger, trendier counterparts. But we've tracked it down in Debenhams for you.

ANY toy that lasts as long as this one has to have something going for it. Simple, sturdy, fun - and never annoying - what more can you ask for. Perfection with wobbly eyes.

(You can put your hands down now...)
