The EcoPals Playmat came in a solid corrugated cardboard box, fastened with natural looking cream ribbon. The kind of box you think you should keep because it will 'come in handy' (it won't). The blanket itself is all natural and pretty in an understated way. It features four squares with different pictures and textures. We use it for 4-month-old Joe's "tummy time" and he loves it, but it doesn't crackle or rattle or squeak, so I think it's probably one for simply lying the baby on, rather than for any entertainment purpose.
