Bobux Soft Leather Shoes - What WE Say...

I have to admit I’m a bit of a late convert to slippers. Never wore them myself, and never really got why a thick pair of socks wasn’t better for the children’s feet than restrictive slippers.

Then I did start to wear them myself (get thee away from me, cold feet), and was persuaded that they were quite nice – but still felt a pair of socks was better on small growing bones.

Then the lovely Caroline at Ollipops (probably rolling her eyes at my dimness, I should think) sent me a pair of Bobux leather slippers for Ella. She took one look (pink, with a cat on – need I elaborate?), slipped them on - and they’ve not been off since. Except for going outdoors of course. And sleeping. But even then we’ve been known to have to remove them once she’s actually asleep…

Because they are such soft natural leather, there is no restriction – but lots of warmth and comfort (and also non-slippy-ness). They are easy for her to put on herself – but trickier to take off, which is a good thing, and the elastic is cleverly designed so that whilst it never rubs her feet, it always holds them securely in place. These simply gorgeous children’s slippers have been hand made in New Zealand using natural Eco-leather which is so soft – no hard seams or stitching to rub tender skin on these. Being natural material, the leather lets your child’s feet breathe whilst keeping them warm, and also protects and moulds around the child's feet allowing bones to flex and develop naturally without restriction of movement (my biggest resistance to slippers, and actually one which can occur just as easily with too-tight socks, I’m reliably informed). Bobux Soft Soles really are the "next best thing to bare feet".

The designs are countless, and unlike most childrens slippers they don’t stop at mini-toddlers: these little pieces of foot-heaven go all the way up to 6 year old sizes. Those clever Europeans take them to school you see – children wear big boots outside, then change into these in the classroom. Such a good idea, I think, rather than having your child in big outdoor shoes all day.

Anyhoo. It looks like I’m stuck with them, because I can’t imagine a time that Ella will not want to wear them. And honestly – I love her "swippers" nearly as much as she does.
