I found the whole baby food in ice-cube trays business messy and stressful – how did you know the trays were really clean (we don't have a dishwasher), could they be sterilised? How did you get the ice cubes out in a sterile way? (Stick a knife in at the side... watch as the cube of precious food fires across the room and lands in the sink...) And then you had to put the cubes into some other dish in order to actually feed the baby and that dish had to be sterile too. It sounds ridiculous when you think of all the other stresses inherent in having a small baby, but sterilising was the bane of my life.

So there's not much I can say about Babypotz apart from that they are 50 pots and lids ranging from 30 to 150ml. The 30ml pots are really quite comedically small – they reminded me of those old Optrex eye baths I'd forgotten all about – and even right at the very beginning of weaning, Joe ate more than an eye bath-full, but I know some babies do start really small. The biggest pots we're still using now and Joe's just turned one. They're useful for leftovers, great for travelling, hygienic. Basically, they do exactly what it says on the box. I don't know why no-one thought of making them sooner.
