What WE Say...

Well, we reviewed the big Automoblox cars for Christmas last year, and they were in our 'Ten of the Best' list, because we just loved them so much.

When we were offered a look at the new Automoblox Minis we of course waved a big excited 'yes please'!

Toby, my big brave car-loving five year old was appointed head tester, and waited every day for the postman.

When the cars did arrive, he was so thrilled with them! He's a bit of a car fanatic, and these two mini Automoblox just filled him with joy. The secret is in the size y'see. Just plain perfect for a small man it is. They can be carried everywhere, and fit nicely into a small boys trouser pocket (often undetected by a usually vigilant mumma). They are small enough to be taken out and about, and I often drop them into my bag if I know Toby may need entertaining somewhere (importantly they are sturdy enough to not drop parts in the bottom of your bag, leaving you to rummage for one blue wheel that he nee-e-eds), and having two means there is the endless fun of swapping parts to make the 'coolest car ever', which has been known to keep him quite for ages on a long car journey.

Automoblox pride themselves on the build quality of their toys, and justifiably so. I can't tell you how beautiful these things are. Really. Having three boys, I know a thing or two about toy cars. And these are far and away my favourites. They are so solid and tactile - the joints stand up to the firmest of 5yr-old shoving, the wheels are robust enough to withstand constant removing and replacing, the wooden body parts are so perfectly styled and shaped to make it feel like an ergonomic sculpture in your hand. Even I can often be persuaded to play cars if I get to have one of these on my team.

Most of all, many's the night I have checked on Toby of an evening and found a hot little hand wrapped around an illicit Automoblox Mini snuck into his bed. And that's pretty much all you need for a review, right there.
