The WasitAnyGoods – The Three (very soft) Amigos.

The three amigos – Bannernina (aka Byootiful Rabbit), Fred and Mary Jane.

(seen here with their newest pal, set to become the fourth Amigo, aka Rosa the Maileg Mumma- Mouse)

In the grand scheme of things, they’ve not been with us so very long. But what a very sad place we would live in without their peaceful smiliness lolloping in quiet corners when we least expect it.

And what an emptier place bed would be too, of course.

(seen here just as I found them in Pink’s room this morning, with their newest pal, set to become the fourth Amigo, aka Rosa the Maileg Mumma- Mouse)

Sadly, in the writing of this post, I have discovered that Bannernina Byootiful Rabbit (from the wonderful Natures Purest) is no longer for sale. And Fred the stripy dog is also missing from Linden French’s shelves – although she does have a fine crochet stripy rabbit, which is obviously the next best thing.

Happily, you can still get your hands on your own Mary Jane traditional rag doll from Silver cross (they will insist on calling her Bronte, but what do they know?)

This is pink whilst camping last autumn – can you spot all three of the Amigos?

The Wasitanygoods – The Stripy Company

Oh,how I’m a sucker for something soft and cosy. But this blanket… it’s not just me, we ALL love it. And not only is it soft and pretty, but it’s oh so very practical too. It was early this year we welcomed the Stripy Blanket into our fold. And I don’t think a day has gone by with it remaining unused since. So deliciously wonderful, it will be loved and cherished for many many years.

It has been a picnic blanket in the garden, dragged around as a ghost, curled up with on the sofa, and included on the first camping trip – sitting round the fire by the river and getting smoky (and a teeny bit marshmallowy) was just a bit special.

It has been washed and dried more often than I would like – and it still looks gorgeous. It’s actually a bit of a Mary Poppins blanket – Practically Perfect in Every Way. WasItAnyGood? Oh my, yes it absolutely was.

More pics here, the review is here, and you can nab your own version from The Stripy Company – we have the Lambswool multistripe Cotbed size.

The Wasitanygood Awards

We review a lot of things here at LittleStuff House. All of the reviews are carried out properly – either by us or by one of our crack team of reviewers, and we are always honest about what we think.

But sometimes a product just seems to hang around. It won’t let us go, move on to the latest item – it just stays there, firmly entrenched, and life would seem that tiny bit emptier without it.

And so – I give you – the very first WasItAnyGood award – to The Beach Factory’s UV sunsuit

Wa-a-ay back in summer 2008 we received this fab stripy sunsuit. Admittedly it may have been a teeny bit big, looking back, but it did the job brilliantly, and it has never failed us since. This summer was undoubtedly Stripes’ swan song – there’s no way ole longlegs will be squeezing back into it next year, but we shall miss our stripy pink girl splashing and singing in her Victorian swimmers.

Crikey. It’s hard to imagine that’s the same suit now…

WasItAnyGoods – LG Steam Direct Washing Machine review

We’ve had this machine for a year now. It has, in that time, performed in excess of 350 washes, and kept control of a family of 6′s clean clothes, bed linen and towels.

A year ago I wrote a (loo-o-ng) and glowing review of this washing machine, the LG F1479FD56 Steam Direct 9kg. So, as we do for the ‘bigger stuff’ we review, I’m revisiting it after a years heavy use. What do I think of it now?

Well.

I love it.

More than I ever did.

I no longer marvel at it every time I walk past – it’s part of the furniture now. What I DO do is trust it. Whatever I cram into it (and I usually cram in a LOT) I know it will handle it. A full double bed change when a stomach-bug-ridden child chooses  MY bed to be sick in. The dog’s bed mid-moult. 6 pairs of jeans thick with mud after a spring walk in the floods. No problem.

We’ve never yet beaten the 9kg capacity, and it has never gone wrong (though it DID get clogged and stop draining. But that was to do with the ‘washing balls’ we were trialling which spilled the 249,742 little balls into my beautiful machine….).

Does the 9kg Steam Direct work for a large family? Oh yes.

Was It Any Good? Oh yes, yes, yes.

Have I mentioned it’s the prettiest washing machine I’ve ever seen too? :)

WasItAnyGoods – Mamas and Papas harewood cotbed

So a whole year has passed since we reviewed the Harewood cotbed. And it is still firmly and happily in use by Pink. Older brothers have been known to jump in with her on the odd excited morning occasion, she has had the odd temper tantrum or two (or 12) in it, underneath it is her secret tired-place den, We have moved rooms (which involved dismantling the cot to get it out the door) and it is still rock-solid and steady on the floor. The cot has been nothing less than perfect, and I am confident that when it comes to taking the sides off and making it into a bed it will be just as marvellous. Best of all, the price is now down to just £185!
