5 reasons to book early for your family ski holiday

When thoughts are turned to sunshine and beach holidays after Summer has finally arrived we want to highlight the reasons why it’s important to be one snow step ahead and get your top family ski holiday booked now.

Family ski holidays have the perfect combination of getting the whole family out and about in natures finest mountain air, creating exhilarating experiences on the slopes and recounting the days adventures over alpine foods and cosy chalet and hotel fires.  Often when families embark on their first family ski holiday they never look back – it’s a must in their travel calendar. With the increasing popularity and demand to have more active and inclusive holidays as a family we just wanted to outline why it’s essential to get it right and book early.

1 – It’s a fact that school holidays = peak dates!

Everyone wants to travel at these busy times and availability can be a big problem if you leave it late. We don’t want you to have slim pickings, we want you to have access to the finest luxury chalets around, so our top tip is to get this arranged now.  You will then have access to some of the finest chalets and hotels on offer. It’s true to say that many clients take the opportunity to rebook the same chalet as soon as they get back after they’ve had a wonderful holiday.

2 – There is no reason better than to book early so you can start looking forward to your holiday.

Why not?! The sooner you have booked and are ready to go, the more time you can have relaxing with your friends and family just waiting for your holiday to come around the corner. You can even get the family counting down the days with some retro magnetic numbers you can pop on the fridge. The number will soon drop down to zero days to go!

3 – Last minute deals are a myth for school holidays dates.

If anything everything becomes more expensive the longer you leave it. Everyone will be going the same dates, so leaving things for the ‘last minute deals’ just makes everything all the more stressful when there is limited or no availability at inflated prices. Chances are those morning private lessons you wanted for yourself or your children or that nanny you wanted for a romantic evening without your children will be impossible or very expensive.

4 – Plan and Prepare; use a concierge service to take all the hard work out of planning your trip.

The concierge team work with the best suppliers out in resort. They have tried and tested all elements of your holiday and have years of experience working with the best chalet companies, ski schools, transfer suppliers and activity based companies in resort. To ensure you get the best options available be sure you plan everything just after you have booked your chalet or hotel with the team, leaving plenty of time to plan, prepare and titivate your itinerary to perfection.

5 – The ‘holiday build up’.

Depending on the age of your child you might need to encourage their anticipation of the holiday and the best way to do that is to share your own passion and excitement for the holiday; sharing amusing skiing stories and laughing about tumbles or falls that you as parents have had. Try and choose stories set in the snow or mountains to read at night to get them thinking and dreaming of their holiday.

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
