Scandi Christmas Made Easy with Clas Ohlson Bargains

If anyone knows something about winter, and making it through the coldest months, it has to be the Scandinavians yes? They’ve been surviving the harshest of winter climates for thousands of years, and there’s no way they don’t know a thing or two about making your home feel warm and Christmassy at this special time of year.

In essence, it’s all about the celebration of light in the dark months; using natural textures and simple touches. Of course, the iconic simplicity of Scandi design with its neutral interior schemes are absolutely made to be the backdrop for twinkling lights, rich green natural garlands and splashes of cheery scarlet. The design may be uncluttered, but it’s never austere, and is filled with touches of sweet simplicity.

Simple, elegant and unintimidatingly charming – perfect Scandi styling from these lighting selections, creating a little Hygge for your home.

The Metal Star  (£6.99) clips onto a normal light pendant; you can simply add the lamp bayonet and bulb of your choice to create a totally unique light for the winter. And of course it can be used as simple star decoration too – I’ve chosen the brass, but there are black and white options as well.

The Candle Lantern (£2.99) – such a simple and effective way to create some dancing warmth in a dark corner. Also comes in black and copper – I’m betting a collection of them clustered on a window sill would look wonderful.

Christmas Paper Star Lightshade (£6.99) – there are lots of styles and sizes available, but this one’s my favourite. It simply fits over your normal ceiling pendant for some instant festive cheer.

Paper Tree Decorations (£2.99)  – they’re a classic, and everyone knows them, they arrive flat and you open them into the concertina-ed paper shape. These particular ones come in four shapes, and in packs of black, white or gold – mix and match for simple and effective decorations.

The Christmas Gnome (1.99) – there’s a selection of gnomes from Clas Ohlson, and they’re all pretty adorable. Quirky, amusing and not too kitsch. Seriously – you do NOT need an Elf on a Shelf when you’ve got a gnome in your home.

Star Tree Topper (£3.99) – No tree is complete without one. Simple, yet shining bright; just the way it should be.

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
