Have A BERRY Good Day – and Nominate Someone Else For One Too!

So new research tells us that by 8.12 in the morning, our mood is set. By that early point in the day, we’ve already determined if it’s going to be a good day – or a bad one.
I admit it though – I’m sceptical.

Of course we’ve all had those mornings where everything just swings along perfectly, and you find yourself humming happily with a small smile on your face for no good reason – just knowing that today’s going to be a good day. And by lunch time your mood has been shot down in flames by you-know-who, and your finger is throbbing from catching it in the drawer, and your head is banging and you’re out of coffee…

And of course we’ve all had those days where by 8.12 in the morning you’ve already lost your temper, lost your keys and lost the will to face what’s coming on your morning schedule.

But.

I’m a firm believer that a rough start doesn’t necessarily make a rough day. It can, of course – but it’s not inevitable.

honk if you're happy

You start the day grumpy and then a random stranger says “oh, I LOVE your shoes!”. Mood, lifted.
Your grumpy self sees an elderly couple walking down the straight hand in hand. Instant smile on your face.
You root about for a tissue (of course you have a cold) in the pocket of your (soaking wet) coat and you find a note in your pocket from your 5yr old, declaring ‘yor the best mummy in ther WURLD“. Heart melted and instantly smiling from your toes.

I think the only time you know for sure about the good/bad day thing is when you finally get to bed at the end of it.

So I loved this video from The Berry Company – it’s all about the optimism – the fact that no matter how disastrous your morning appears to be, something can always make it a little better. Just watching his attempts made my day better (though it did make me a bit sad at people’s reluctance to acknowledge a smiling man offering a random act of kindness in a busy street).

Just for the record – I flippin’ LOVE the Berry company. And not just because they gift people umbrellas when it’s raining, randomly pay for taxi’s and hand out free hugs (though they’re all winning strategies in my book). No, I properly love their juices.  All manner of seriously good berries (not from concentrate), and they’re sweetened with a little stevia leaf. What’s not to like?

you're awesome

So here’s the extra-exciting bit.
You can get involved, and nominate someone you feel is deserving to Win a BERRY good day !
The prizes are great; from fresh flowers at work, a professional hair and makeup artist to get your nominee ready for work.. or maybe a lift to and from work in a supercar with Le Mans Driver Oliver Jarvis!

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
