Toasted To the Top with Breville’s Warburton Toaster

Toast.

What on earth would we do without toast, eh?

Ever since my first pregnancy 16 years ago, I haven’t been able to face milky cereal for breakfast. Just… no. No no no.
But a hot strong mug of choice (tea or coffee, as the mood takes me. I know, I’m a rebel.) accompanied by a couple of slices of your finest crunchy bread? Now THAT’S a breakfast for kings.

But it’s never a boring same-ole-same-ole breakfast. Oh no. Just look at the choices that are before us, fellow toast-loavers… is it a peanut-butter-and-banana kind of morning (*whispers* aka hangover)? Or a savoury buttery marmite day? Perhaps I’m just after a little honey sweetness. Or maybe I’m in need of a power breakfast and will whip up a couple of eggs…
But underneath, at the heart of it all?
Delicious Toast.

Now I love a slice or two good-for-you wholegrain as much as the next person. Wholemeal is a taste I adore.
But toast?
Come on. There’s nothing that can ever beat some hot buttery white toast, is there?
warburtons Toastie

Good thick slices of white bread, toasted golden brown and crunchy on the outside, buts till that soft fluffy warm bread texture in the middle.

And not your itty-bitty little loaves either. no no no. If you’re going white, it has got to be Warburtons Toastie loaves. Great big long slices, thick enough and long enough for breakfast deliciousness.
But (and I hate to say it) there’s a downside to the perfect bread.
It’s the toasting. You have to use the grill, because if you don’t you get left with the icky half moon of untoasted silly-bread at the top of your toast. And no one wants that.
But use the grill at your peril, fellow toasters. For though the toast is perfect when watched in its toasting, I guarantee that you’ll get caught up making tea, unloading the dishwasher or finding Mr Buttons… and lo, the toast is burned and the fire alarm is squawking and your lovely morning peacefulness is shattered.

So imagine my joy when Breville got in touch to tell me about the new ‘Breville 2 & 4 Slice Toaster – The Perfect Fit for Warburtons®’, which promises to toast the long slices completely to the top!

I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
