Lindam Easyfit Plus Gate Review

I’ve taken my time about reviewing this one since it’s only through use that flaws and problems come to light. I am pleased to say that this, after many weeks of use, has none! In the spirit of a fair test to a “pressure fitted” gate I tried it first without the wall-cups. (It does say in the instruction booklet not to do this in the interest of safety, but what can I say? I’m a rebel!) The gate didn’t move, not even a little bit. Excellent! Especially when your little convict shakes the bars repeatedly to try and escape!

The fact the gate opens both ways was a real winner in our house. The ability to open it away from me regardless of the direction of approach was useful. More than useful, it actually made life much more simple. (Dramatic? No?) You see we have the gate mounted at the turn of the stairs, so space is tight if approaching from the upper level, the option to open the gate without having to hop out of the way has been wonderful, particularly when helping a toddler descend/carrying said toddler/the laundry basket etc.

Well built, with a simple (but toddler-proof) double trigger catch (i.e. you have to squeeze both sides to open), the gate truly is worthy addition to our toddler-proofing efforts. Oh, and should you need a wider gate, no problem! You can order your first extender free using the form in the instruction pack!

All in all, after all my waffling about the wonders of the Easyfit Plus Gate, I would highly recommend it to anyone who cares to listen.
