The Triffid Tomatoes

It was a bit scary actually – when we got back from France we found ourselves faced with Triffid Tomatoes.

Honestly.

This is the ones in the Mini Grow Bed – AFTER we had cut them back… We truly only planted four plants in there…

When we sauntered out to check on them with our first post-holiday mug-of-tea-round-the-garden-wander, they were actually pressing the plastic cover up and away from the support frame. There seems to be lots of baby green fruit, but we have no idea if enough light will penetrate the Triffid-leaves to ripen anything…
