Pretty & practical summer clothes – our pick of the best from Vertbaudet

We had the pleasure of reviewing a selection of clothes from Vertbaudet whilst in France. I clapped my hands in glee when the lovely people at Vertbaudet offered Pink a holiday selection – her usual UK packlist just wasn’t cutting it for warmer climes. Of course, one dress and her UV suit was all she actually nee-e-e-ded, but a girl can’t have too many pretty cotton items when she’s off on her hols.

Here’s our pick of both her and my faves -

Not my personal first choice to look at, but I could see her sigh with pleasure very time she slid it on. Pink would have lived in this cotton seersucker dress. In the melting heat of France this was one of the few items she was always comfortable in. Lovely embroidery, frilled hem, butterfly sleeves, lined in cotton toile, dries faster than you can imagine and a delicious Granny Knicker Peach colour to boot. The ultimate go-anywhere summer dress.

Ah. The pear dress. Pure cotton poplin, with fabulous pear motif (spot the eaten one!). Perfect for that evening at the Auberge Jeanne D’Arc on the square as the sun went down. But also perfect for a day out at Futuroscope – a dress for all days. Cool, crisp and endlessly summery.

Pretty, pretty, pretty – the colour, the wide appliqued fabric waistband, the pure cool cotton voile – and best of all, it hits the ultimate tickbox -  “it’s SWINGY Mummy!”. Washes  well, dries easily, hangs beautifully, cool and practical to wear… what’s not to love?
