Beach Factory Review!

The first thing you notice when you go to The Beach Factory online store is the amount of choice there is available to you. Its staggering! Not only is there more sun protection swimwear (for the entire family, not just the small people I might add) but there are other useful sun-related accessories too. A perfect one-stop-shop for all those essentials you suddenly realise you need a few days before you go away (or on the rare occasion the sun pokes its head out in the this ‘Great’ summer of ours…).

Anyhoo, I let the lovely Ann from the Beach factory pick me out some relevant items for the children to review. Pink received an Ozone all-in-one UV suit, in a funky stripy pink. And I have to say it has been totally fabulous – she lives in it whenever the sun shines. Quite apart from the obvious UV protection (being an all in one it saves SO much hassle with the sun cream on the slippery impatient wriggly toddler back/front/sides dance) it is cleverly designed too. Poppers underneath for rapid nappy changes, and roomy enough for the swim nappy too. The zipper on the back is big and chunky enough to be easy to handle even when wet, and comes all the way down so that getting the suit off the wet and clammy child at the end of a long and tiring day is simple and painless. And on top of all that she looks just plain adorable in it ;)

Boy was even more impressed with is ‘wow, wicked!’ Tiger Joe short sleeve Rash Shirt. Good and long enough in the body even for my gangly 7 yr old, he is never without it now – it again avoids the need for hanging around for the suncream, and with its UPF50+ he can be in and out of the water as often as he likes without worrying. It also dries super-fast in the sunshine so there’s no sitting in a chilly damp t-shirt all afternoon while you try and build your finest sand fort ever.

Boy was slightly more dubious about his stripe hooded towelling top from Mitty James (he thought it looked a bit girly). But. This has become his absolute favourite slouch wear! Not only does he visibly sigh with pleasure when he slips it on at the end of a busy day on the beach, but it is also always to be found ready and waiting for him when he gets out of the garden pool all chilly because the sun has disappeared (again). He always throws it on after his bath, and he jealously guards it from any brotherly ‘borrows’. It’s just so darn useful! A nice practical towelling fabric, long enough to be warm as temperatures cool, the hood and the UV protection make it a handy cover up in the middle of the day… just a fab all-rounder. And the age ranges are so wide that there’s plenty of growing room – making sure it’ll get loads of use over the next few years.
