Prince Lionheart bébéPOD® Review

Now, I’d not tried one of these seats before. Despite all the intense pressure, I’d somehow managed to raise 3 boys without one – and all of them figured out how to sit up, all by themselves. :O
But, Prince Lionheart wanted us to review them so we said we’d give them a try.
Katy’s already a convert, using the Bumbo seat on a regular basis at her Mums & Tots group, so she was happy to compare the two. Apparently she prefers the bebePOD – it’s roomier, for a start, so you’re not left lifting your child out of it, then prising the seat away from their bottom with your foot whilst balancing on your other leg. It’s a very elegant dance some of you may be familiar with, performed in homes and Mums & Tots groups across the country.

As for me – well, I put Pink in it when she reached the 4 month minimum age bracket and she looked ridiculous, I have to say. Though she didn’t fall out, she did a very unladylike sideways slump, whilst grinning inanely and flailing her arms uselessly about.
But just this morning I popped her in it to try again (at the grand old age of 4 months and 3 weeks). She loved it – as you can see! She sat quite happily lobbing her toys just out of reach so that I could stop working and hand them back to her every 5 minutes. She seems to like being more upright than the bouncy chair allows – and I think the older she gets the more she’ll love it.

Have to say that my skinny-ribs Joe (who’s 5) can slip in and out of the seat with ease. Though the more solidly built Toby (4) needs it peeling off his bottom once he’s forced his ample bottom in there…

The newer with-tray version is available at Boots for £46
